An international specialised workshop Development of human resources in science and research 13th - 14th May 2008 in Liberec, Czech Republic The development of human resources of workers in science and research is one of the basic conditions for achieving the aims of the Lisbon strategy. Should the European Union be able to compete, not only with the USA and Japan, but also quickly growing economy of China, it is necessary to work continuously to sustain our competitive advantage in the form of a high quality and creative work force. The aim of the workshop, organized in the frame of the project TRANSCEN, is to create an international platform for exchanging know-how and experience in the area of development of human resources in science and research. Participation is open to managers, science and research workers, specialist in the field of education, academic workers and also students who are dealing with the issue of development and management of human resources in science and research. The mission of the workshop is, first of all, to exchange know-how among the experts on the topic and form new working partnerships (contacts). Thematic areas of the workshop:

Programme of the workshop: The event is divided in two parts; the first day event will have a conferential character. Apart from the speeches of invited guests during the morning session the afternoon session is reserved for the panel discussion - with the opportunity to promote participants´ own registered presentations. The papers must be entered using the registration form for papers placed on the web site in the Registration section. Applicants will be informed of the decision of the workshop committee to accept or reject their papers, based on their papers´ adherence to the criteria regarding form and content relating to their theme. On the second day there will be free rooms for all participants, interested in partner meetings and negotiations, to discuss their possible cooperation topics. Official language: The official languages of the workshop are Czech, Slovak and English. Only papers written in one of these languages can be accepted. Publication of the papers If you are interested in presentation of your activities (in the form of a poster and a presentation during the workshop), please remember to register by filling in and sending the registration form for papers by31st March 2008 . at the latest.Note – in case of the time for panel discussion fulfilment, the registration will be closed earlier!
The organisation of the workshop is fully financed in the frame of the project TRANSCEN which means that participation for all is free of charge.
